A Great Online Prospecting Tool Transcript:
My go-to tool right now is Hootsuite. It’s a tool that allows you to post once and post to all your social networks on the push side. On the prospecting side, I’m in the business of trying to sell keynotes. I’m trying to get hired to speak. I’ve also produced videos.
In Hootsuite, you can put in key terms. I look for my name, the name of my books (Socialnomics or Digital Leader). I look for people’s comments on Twitter. Just this week, this lady tweeted, “Oh, man. They showed Equal Man’s video at the ADP conference.”
Now I know there’s a room full of people at the company, ADP. If I click on that person, I can most likely see where they work and where they live. I can reach out to them and say, “Glad you enjoyed the video. Did you read any of the books? Let me know.”
That’s how you start that relationship. That relationship’s now transpired to where I will be speaking for that company. That’s how you do it. That’s how you use a tool like Hootsuite to listen, interact and react out there — and then you can sell you stuff. That’s a tool that I use a lot on a daily basis. I highly recommend it for everybody out there.
